Real Mail Fridays
12 Noon to 3 PM Eastern, from wherever you are, via Zoom
It's that time of year when we're dreaming of a white Christmas and remembering friends and family, near and far, with cards and letters. Why not handle this task in the company of friends? Gather with us several times in December –– this is our first gathering –– to write your Christmas cards and Yuletide cards, Chanukah cards and Kwanzaa cards and New Year cards, too.
We'll announce the days and times each week, as some of the hours will be different than usual (12 Noon to 3 PM this time around) and some of the days may be different than usual, too (though this week we are sticking to Friday). Check here often to be sure of our Holiday Card Social schedule.
How does this all work? You provide the cards and the stamps (and the hot cocoa and eggnog); we'll provide the festive soundtrack. The music we've chosen for the season is anything but typical; we can guarantee you won't hear "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year" and in fact, most of this music is music you've probably not heard much of before. We provide the Zoom platform, too. And though it's billed as a card writing social, join us to do whatever it is you need to do: our Real Mail Fridays enthusiasts spend their time with us journaling, baking, making books, working at their desks, and even shoveling freshly fallen snow (it's true!). Some of them do, in fact, write letters. Whatever it is you're doing, you can do it in the company of friends from around the globe. Real Mail Fridays: three hours of quiet working time, set to a very Jaffe soundtrack, with a short break once or twice an hour to chat. Supremely heartwarming.

JCBA programs are all brought to you by you. Please support us if you can with a tax-deductible gift. At our donation portal, you may make a gift to the Jaffe Support Fund, which helps us acquire new artists' books and prints for the Jaffe Collection, or the Jaffe Center for Book Arts Education Fund, which supports all of our educational programs. Thank you!
